Mourning Flora
Mourning Flora reflects on the healing power of flowers—their ability to soothe, alter mood, and bridge the living and the departed—while also grieving what is too often overlooked. Flowers sustain life through pollination, yet their importance, like the natural world itself, is frequently disregarded. In their sorrow, they echo something deeper—a lament for the imbalance we’ve created. The daisy’s historical ties to purity and devotion take on new weight, questioning the treatment of both nature and the feminine, so often dismissed until their absence is felt. This series is deeply personal, rooted in my experiences of loss and my search for meaning in the spaces between presence and absence, life and afterlife.
